  29. The speed of your CPU is irrelevant. The problem is that Chip RAM is
  30. only 16 bit and your custom chips still run at 7MHz.

  34. Or get a Picasso, you can then use 256 colour screens without slowing
  35. down the serial port. The other solution is something like the GVP IO
  36. extender card, the serial ports on this don't use the custom chips.
